At the April meeting of the Board of Education, school leadership moved to approve several new administrative hires for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year to fill current and upcoming vacancies.
Earlier this month, current assistant superintendent Kyle Uhrig announced his intent to withdraw from his position at Circleville City Schools to take another position in a family business after 8 years of service to the district. To fill this key district operations vacancy, the board hired Kirk Henderson to the same role effective July 1st, 2021.
Henderson comes to Circleville by way of Canal Winchester High School where he has spent the last 18 years as an administrator, most recently as building principal (2012-2021). Prior to that, he served as a a special education teacher and assistant principal at Teays Valley Middle School from 2000-2003. Henderson will work alongside incoming superintendent Dr. Kimberly Halley who was hired at the March meeting of the Board of Education (

Co-Curriculum Directors Named
In addition to filling the position of assistant superintendent, the district currently has a vacancy in the curriculum department due to the retirement of curriculum director Lisa Heins in May 2020.
Joining the administrative team to assist with academic advancement next fall, the board of education has hired two curriculum directors in Amy Boston (Kindergarten-5th Curriculum Director) and Garla Brown (6th-12th grade Curriculum Director).
Collectively, Boston and Brown will oversee school curriculum design, alignment, and instructional practices as a means of helping students reach their full potential.
Boston has spent the past 10 years at Miami Trace Local Schools as their Director of Elementary Curriculum, but also has local ties to Pickaway County as a former assistant principal and teacher at Westfall Local Schools.
Brown is currently the high school/lead campus principal of the Health Sciences & Human Services STEM Academy of Reynoldsburg City Schools.
Food Services
Taking over for Suzie Gerhardt (named to a new position in the district) as the head of food services, Aron Sheffield has been named the district's new Director of Food Services.
Over the course of the past year, Circleville City Schools has distributed over 150,000 meals to students across the city and Sheffield will continue our effort to help feed our Tigers in the months and weeks to come - including overseeing another summer of meal distribution for K-12 students.
